Activity Assistant

What will I do in this role with Judson?

• Work closely with Programming Department and interdisciplinary teams to plan, deliver, and coordinate programs that meet the needs of the residents.
• Assist with evaluating and adapting programming on an ongoing basis to ensure that the programming schedule is creative, efficient, and reflective of the members' need and interests.
• Help to facilitate spontaneity of members, staff, family, and community in order to create a homelike environment.
• Interact and collaborate with all relevant support departments (Dining Services, Environmental Services, and Housekeeping) affected by the activities designed, and give advance notice of interdepartmental functions. Work closely with staff to include them in the provision of activities that occur during assigned shifts.
• Create and post weekly calendars on the units for members, staff and families.
• Participate in regularly scheduled meetings such as Departmental meetings and line ups.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2 – 3 years’ closely related experience and either a Recreation/Activities Certification from NCCAP or a B.S. /B.A. degree in recreation, art or music therapy.

• Strong organizational and communication skills, as well as basic computer literacy required.
• Time management is essential in order to provide maximum number activities for residents.
