Summary

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (AOI) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Recruiting Coordinator to join our dynamic Human Resources team. This position plays a key role in supporting the full recruitment lifecycle-particularly for non-exempt roles-while also coordinating onboarding and orientation activities to ensure a seamless new hire experience.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with hiring managers, and staffing agencies to attract qualified talent, facilitate new hire integration, and provide general HR administrative support. This position requires strong organizational skills, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties
  • Support the delivery of a quality full cycle recruitment service and contribute to the recruitment strategy and objectives
  • Provide end-to-end coordination for non-exempt recruitment, including scheduling interviews, managing candidate and hiring manager communications, and liaising with staffing agencies.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand specific job requirements and develop targeted sourcing strategies
  • Screen and assess candidate qualifications, skills, and cultural fit through phone screens and resume evaluations.
  • Maintain and update candidate pipelines within the Vendor Management System (VMS) and/ or Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Coordinate and facilitate temp new hire onboarding activities, including preparing temp new hire packets, collecting required documents, and ensuring completion of pre-employment processes.
  • Conduct and support temp new hire orientations, ensuring an informative and engaging introduction to company policies, culture, and procedures.
  • Stay informed of recruiting trends, industry benchmarks, and best practices to enhance the talent acquisition process.
  • Preparation and process candidate interview reimbursements
  • Assist in planning and coordinating employee events, activities, and engagement initiatives.
  • Perform general HR administrative tasks and correspondence as requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, liberal arts, or similar discipline is preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience in HR or recruiting or similar role in engineering or manufacturing organization is preferred.
  • Experience in recruitment coordination and supporting onboarding/ orientation programs.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of Vendor Management Systems a plus
  • Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) Clear Company a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments with competing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport quickly with candidate and employees
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, or Mandarin Chinese is preferred
Location

This position is full-time and on-site at our Sugar Land, Texas, headquarters in Houston.
