Job Title: Welder and Fabricator

Job Description

As a Welder and Fabricator, you will fabricate and weld plastic for chemical tanks in the steel department. You will start your task by receiving a print or drawing complete with a bill of materials. Your role will involve taking raw materials, cutting them with a saw according to the print, and then processing them through a bending machine followed by a fusing machine. You will perform all layout work to ensure dimensions are accurate before proceeding with the welding.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld plastic components for chemical tanks.
• Interpret and work from technical drawings and bills of material.
• Cut raw materials using saws and process them through bending and fusing machines.
• Perform layout work to ensure accurate dimensions prior to welding.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in welding and fabricating, from either on-the-job experience or hobby practice.
• Proficiency in shop math, with at least 1 year of experience in adding and subtracting fractions.
• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure down to the 32nd inch, with at least 1 year of experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in blueprint reading is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
